Spectral Gamma Logger
A total gamma-ray logger is a recording of the total natural gamma radiation of the formation around the wellbore. It is assumed that this amount is related to three main elements (Potassium, Uranium, and Thorium).
A spectral gamma-ray logger is a recording of the relative amounts of the three main elements that create the natural radiation (Potassium which is reported in percentage, Uranium which is reported in ppm, and Thorium which is reported in ppm).
TECO Spectral Gamma Ray Logger measures the energy level and quantity of the radiation emitted from a core sample and calculates the quantity of each of the elements. The amounts of each of these elements and the total gamma-ray count are then used as a function for depth matching operation to understand the amount of shift which were created during coring process.
Dual logging mode – Spectral and Total Gamma, the measurements are recorded and plotted simultaneously for both Spectral and Total logs.
Stepper motor drive which provides multiple speed settings – optimizes resolution and speed.
Lead Chamber – reduce the radiations from surrounding, in order to decrease background counting level and improving detection limit
Locking swivel castors – enables quick and easy moving.
Can handle cores up to 4.5″ in diameter.
Calibration standards are available on customer request.
